As German as GeigerCars is, they know a thing or two about tuning American cars. No surprises then, as the company shows off its latest best from the west creation, a Dodge Challenger-based muscle car using the HEMI V8 to power itself. It's the SRT 8's soul that it comes with, that 6.1-litre V8 which produces 425hp/ 317kW off the showroom floor. more detail. ...

The car offers a standard six-speed manual gearbox or buyers can opt for the six-speed automatic. BMW promises an improved ride over the previous model thanks to new wheel suspension, precision electromechanical steering and toughened braking.
Luggage space has increased by 5 liters, which may not be much but is still good news given that any extra trunk acreage is desperately needed in this car. You get only 170 liters with the roof closed.
The 1.6 liter engine driving this new Mini is the kind of spritely power plant that often makes a hot hatch more fun to drive than a stately premium sports sedan. In fact, it's what makes any hatch hot -- period.
BMW is also touting the techno-gizmo offerings like a USB connector for music players, Bluetooth hands-free telephony, and the now standard, me-too, iPhone compatibility of this new MINI. And the package also includes all the cutsie, Lego block configurations in colors you would want available.
BMW developed this engine in a joint project with Peugeot and a similar variant is found in the 207 and 207 GTi with great performance results.
The engine is present here in two forms, as a standard 120 hp in the MINI Cooper Cabrio and as a Twin-Scroll turbocharged 175 hp in the MINI Cooper S Cabrio.
But this is one model where BMW should not be afraid to hype the fundamentals.
Toyota Motor Corp. shares sat out the broader market advance Wednesday after Fitch Ratings slapped a rare downgrade on the Japanese automaker's pristine credit rating, citing the brutal industry climate that has driven U.S. rivals ever closer to bankruptcy. Read All Article
Maranello, 23rd November 2008 - Usain Bolt, 100 and 200m Olympic Champion at Beijing 2008, fulfilled his dream driving a F430 Spider at Monte Carlo, on a section of the Formula One city circuit. Bolt is at Monaco for the World Athletics Gala, promoted by the IAAF, the International Association of Athletics Federations, where he will receive the "Athlete of the Year" award.
Marangoni present the M430, staff (very personal ...) interpretation of Alfa Romeo Mi.To, the next exhibition in Essen, Germany exhibition dedicated to the lovers of extravagance on four wheels. We started from the end: it is easier. Well, now we talk touches the car, but before the last diversion: the propeller. Powered than 65 horses, the 1.4 T-Jet reaches 220 total, while ensuring a powerful delivery from the low revs.
And now the bodywork, radical and extreme as few other cars of the same segment: aesthetic merits of the package, which lowers the car by more than 4 cm, the various air inlets with cuts and Taglietti, dell'estrattore, the system of openness the goalkeeper. Each element, in practice, and accessories - red rubber eighteen inches, Swarovski stones inside - does not help to make it more sober. More Photos
BMW is once again putting its weight behind, over, under and every other way, on protecting its customers. Proof lies in these great spy pictures of a very heavy 7 Series. Made heavy by its bullet proof windows, and wide fail-safe tyres among other additions, the 7 is a Security unit obviously made for the safety of occupants sitting inside. Not a security feature itself, the flagpole on the front fender indicates the potential buyers of this vehicle, namely prominent politicians. more detail. ...
The Baywatch jokes started as soon as Volkswagen revealed the Pickup Concept at the 62nd IAA Commercial Vehicles Show this past September. Decked out in rescue gear with press shots taken on a beach, it was unavoidable.
Drama aside, the Pickup Concept previews the full production model currently in development which is believed to carry the name Robust or possibly Taro.
Volkswagen will begin production of the 1 ton truck in the fall of 2009 at its plant in Pachero Argentina with sales to begin soon after in the models key markets: South America, South Africa, Australia and Europe. There are no confirmations on when or if the pickup will make it to US shores, but surely that can't be too far round the corner.
Apparently the VW marketing folks are keen to exploit this surf and rescue angle, perhaps because Baywatch star David Hasselhoff (aka the 'Hoffmeister' or 'The Hoff') is a pop icon in Germany, and have released this new Baywatch style dramatic video. Don't get your hopes up as there's no slow-mo running scenes here of beautiful lifeguards. via:World Car Fans
