Wald demonstrated their Nissan production GT-R kit chops

The front and rear bumper fascias at first glance appear over-styled with excessive air ducts and prominent non-functional rear diffuser, but still somehow manage to compliment the GT-R with just enough restraint without going too far.

Wald International has fired a barrage of new body kit packages recently, such as the E90 3-Series, BMW M5 and Mercedes C-Class. And now their latest release, is possibly one of their most important. Wald, in our humble opinion, can be hot and cold with their designs, but it seems they've got a winner with their GT-R Sports Line kit.

Perhaps not as radical as the purpose built GT-R GT500 race car for the Japanese Super GT race series, but Wald's initial design, which is still in development, shows a menacing track-prepped look particularly with the rear wheel arch flairs, rivet clips included. Also in the kit are front bumper fascia, lower rear bumper fascia with integrated diffuser, side skirts, upper rear wing extension and lower lip spoiler on the deck lid - both in carbon fiber.

benzs-Final Current-Generation BMW Z4 Rolls off Production Line

The next generation model is expected to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, it may be unveiled as a concept version initially but as with previous BMW concepts (M3,X6), styling would not differ much come production time. BMW will continue to offer a large range of engines which will include the twin-turbo 3.0-liter from the 335i and the Z4 M is set to get the new 4.0 liter V8 from the M3. There are also rumours of a diesel being available.

This past Thursday the final BMW Z4 of the current generation rolled off the production line at BMW's Spartanburg manufacturing plant in North Carolina. It marks the end of an era for the facility which has built more than 200,000 Z4s over the past seven years with production being shifted over to Germany for the new model.

The plant is currently undergoing a massive $750 million expansion which will add a 1.2 million square foot assembly facility as well as expand the paint shop. The results will see the X5, X6 and the next generation X3 assembled at the plant.

“It’s been a great car for the plant and although the BMW Z4 put us on the map, it doesn't define us” said Bobby Hitt, BMW Manufacturing spokesman referring to the future plans of the facility.

Video & Photos Maybach Elegant drifting

Despite weight over 2,800 kg (6,184 lbs), being rear wheel drive and having a 550hp V12 under the bonnet producing 900 Nm (663 lbs/ft) of torque, it's still easy to imagine the difficulty in drifting a Maybach 62 around a curve. However, the chaps at iMotor have taken the challenge, of course with the help of a skilled driver, a nice new tux and a wet slick track. The only thing missing from the video is a sip of bubbly while drifting through the turn.

BMW E90 3 series Wald aviation kit

For the E90 BMW 3-Series sedan, Japanese tuning company, Wald International, has released another new body kit which follows the same hard edged look with louvered styling elements previously seen in the recent Bentley Conti GT Black Bisson Edition and Mercedes C-Class Black Bisson Edition. Despite the resemblance, Wald has decided not to give this 3-Series a Black Bisson Edition designation but instead a simpler WALD E90 Sports Line name.

Whatever you want to call it, the body kit includes front bumper fascia with dual fog lamp projectors, side skirts, rear bumper fascia, luggage lid spoiler and exhaust system. Also seen are WALD's latest wheel set, MAHORA M11C, 19 x 8.5J in the front with Face dish 1 and 19 x 9.5 for the rear with Face dish 3.

NISMO issues Club Sport package for R35 GT-R

The combination of rock-hard coils and adjustable damping at both low and high speeds should make the GT-R stickier in the corners and more stable while bombing through a fast sweeper. Rounding out the handling package is a set of Rays forged aluminum wheels, sized 20x9.5-inches in front (+45mm offset) and 20x10.5-inches (+25mm offset) in the rear, and wrapped in Bridgestone RE070R run-flats, sized 225/40 and 285/35, front and rear. These are rumored to be the same rollers we'll see on the Spec-V when it's unveiled in Paris this October.

Now here's the bad news: the parts are only available in Japan as a package, can only be installed by 12 NISMO-authorized shops and come in at a whopping ¥5,460,000 (over $50,000). However, some U.S. importers have already worked out a distribution deal with NISMO, but for those of us in the States, we don't get the added benefit of the three-year/60,000 km warranty.

The rest of the parts focus on weight reduction, beginning with a lightweight axle-back exhaust that drops 11 pounds from the GT-R's curb weight, along with a carbon fiber undertray that reduces air turbulence and parasitic drag. Upgraded carbon-fiber backed and leather-trimmed seats are also part of the package, which retains the side airbags but nixes the electronic controls, reducing weight by another 13 pounds total. Naturally, some NISMO badging rounds out the upgrades.

On the positive side, the parts are the typical blend of OEM quality and fitment, with a focus on tighter handling and weight reduction. The Club Sport tuning package includes the Chassis pack made up of race-tuned Bilstein Damptronic adjustable dampers sheathed in 18.5kg/mm (front) and 9.6 kg/mm (rear) springs.

So the next Audi TT will be mid-engined?

The TT replacement is due to appear in 2013 – and it sounds like it's going to become the sports car it always should have been. At last. ‘Going mid-engined would instantly silence critics who accuse the TT of being a reskinned overpriced Golf,’ comments our friend from Bavaria. ‘It would also work wonders in terms of price positioning and brand image, and it would complement the R8.’

Engines likely to get the green light for the model include the 180bhp 1.8-liter TFSI, a 220bhp 2.0-liter TFSI and we should also see an S-line version hitting close to 280bhp. Diesels are also likely to find its way to the engine bay, probable candidates are the 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter TDI engines that are good for 125bhp and 204 bhp respectively.

benzs-Seat Ibiza ECOMOTIVE Headed for Paris

The ECOMOTIVE will be available in both the SportCoupe (three-door) and five-door versions, it features an 80hp 1.4 TDI engine fitted with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) which not only helps the afore mentioned emission levels but also reduces fuel consumption as well. The ECOMOTIVE also benefits from slight modifications to the gear ratios, a set of new 14 inch wheels and similar to the previous generation, a weight saving measure that removes the spare tyre and replaces it with an antipuncture kit. Aerodynamic modifications also help contribute to the low fuel consumption with a new closed front grille and rear spoiler.

Last week we revealed to you the first images and details of the top of the range Seat Ibiza CUPRA, now at the other end of the green spectrum we can now reveal the Ibiza ECOMOTIVE. The model will offer the lowest emissions in its segment with a figure of just 99g/km blowing much of its competition away.

Full fuel consumption figures are yet to be announced, we are likely to have to wait until its full unveiling at the Paris Motor Show alongside the CUPRA model.
