308 Millesim 1.6 VTi 120 £16,745.00 43.46 155

All models also benefit from the already comprehensive standard specification of the 308 which includes: ABS, electronic brake force distribution (EBFD), emergency brake assist (EBA), driver airbag, passenger airbag, side airbags, curtain airbags, electronic stability programme (ESP), remote control central locking with deadlocks, electric front and rear windows, radio / single CD player, air-conditioning, front fog lights….

With the 308 Millisem, owners will also be able to play all their latest music by simply connecting a portable MP3 player or iPod directly to the car. The Peugeot Connect USB & Bluetooth consists of a USB or jack plug socket to connect a portable music player and full Bluetooth phone connectivity. Therefore, the driver can make and receive phone calls completely hands-free on any Bluetooth compatible phone. Controls on the steering column also allow the driver to operate both a Bluetooth phone and portable music player without taking hands off the steering wheel.

For the petrol versions, the 308 Millesim is equipped with Peugeot’s class leading VTi petrol engines. Two engine options are available, a new Euro 5 1.4 litre 98 bhp, or a 1.6 litre 120 bhp version. Both engines benefit from Peugeot’s particularly innovative VTi technology which improves the engine’s overall efficiency, significantly reducing fuel consumption (particularly in phases of partial load) and, therefore, CO2 emissions.

For HDi diesel versions, the 308 Millesim is powered by Peugeot’s 1.6 litre 90 and 110 bhp engines, both acknowledged for their driveability, performance and low running costs (62.7 mpg in the combined cycle and zero vehicle excise duty). An additive based diesel particulate filter system (FAP) is fitted as standard on the HDi 110 bhp engine.

Inside, the 308 Millesim interior is perfectly in keeping with the exterior styling. The inclined design of the fascia panel helps to accentuate the feeling of space and the use of high quality materials (both to look at and to touch) creates an impression of quality seldom encountered in this level of vehicle.

The 308 Millesim benefits from Peugeot’s extensive experience and the latest technological advances to ensure safety of the highest order at all levels. A five star EuroNCAP rating is combined with the standard fitment of: ESP, six airbags, five three-point inertia reel seat belts with a “fasten seat belt” warning system, front and rear head restraints designed to limit whiplash, three Isofix mountings to accommodate a child seat – one at the front and two in the rear outer seats and an electrically operated child safety system which simply and safely locks the rear doors and disables the electric rear windows.

The 308 Millesim is launched in the UK in June priced from £16,245.00 on-the-road for the 1.4 VTi 98 version. All models ordered in June also come with a free Nokia 5230 smartphone with inbuilt satellite navigation with free future updates and an in-car mounting kit.

Peugeot unveils the new 408 at its world premier in Beijing

2011 Peugeot 408 Sedan for China

A decisive step in the Lion's offensive on the world's foremost automobile market. Presented today, as a world premier on the Chinese market, to around 300 Chinese journalists and more than 700 network representatives by Jean-Marc Gales the Marque's Managing Director, the new Peugeot 408 marks a further step in the Marque's offensive on the world's foremost automobile market.

Despite being present on the Chinese market for 5 years only, the Peugeot Marque sold over 410 000 vehicles in 2009. This corresponds to a 44% sales increase compared with its 2008 performance.

2011 Peugeot 408 Sedan for China

Following its fine performance in the M1 segment with the success of the 307 saloon and the 307 notch-back, of which 3,522,800 have been produced worldwide, Peugeot is now quite legitimately embarking on a Chinese market offensive with its new 408 DF Peugeot.

This new prestigious notchback tailored for the Chinese market will serve to reinforce Dong Feng Peugeot's product offer on the M1 segment that accounts for over 45 % of the total market.

In this manner, the new Peugeot DF 408 should enable the Lion Marque to increase its sales volumes by over 30% in 2010, compared with 2009, and thereby to grow at twice the forecast pace of the market.

2011 Peugeot 408 Sedan for China

This half-height architecture notch-back saloon has been designed and developed jointly by Peugeot's Styling teams in Europe and China and meets three objectives: embody the Marque's modernity, guarantee maximum safety and offer unrivalled interior space.

The 408 name follows the Lion Marque's traditional naming logic. The figure 4 refers to the size of the car (4.68 m) and its positioning in the medium-luxury family saloon segment. The 0 in the middle signifies that it belongs to the Peugeot Marque, while the 8 expresses the vehicle generation.

2011 Peugeot 408 Sedan for China

With this name, the 408 naturally falls into place within the current Peugeot range and becomes the forerunner of the 8 series, the latest generation vehicles to be launched on the Chinese market.

The Dong Feng Peugeot 408 is the fruit of work by the joint venture set up between PSA Peugeot Citroën and the Chinese group DFM. The car is being produced at the Wuhan plant in Hubei province in China. It is positioned to become one of the market's benchmark vehicles with a full-year sales target of 100,000 units

Spy Photos: Better Peugeot 308 RC-Z Pics Reveal Retractable Rear Wing

Copyright autoscoop.biz / Carlos / Peugeot RC-Z Prototype

Our spy photographers have once again managed to catch Peugeot's upcoming 308 RC-Z coupe undergoing testing in Europe.

Unlike the black RC-Z prototype we brought you earlier, these new pictures reveal more details about the car's overall shape as well as its retractable rear wing.

Design wise, the production model appears virtually identical to the 308 RC-Z Concept that first appeared at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007. The small patch of camouflage on the roof even suggests that a version of the concept's "double bubble" roof may be destined for production.

Expected to be launched in 2010, the RC-Z will come equipped with several of the 308's more powerful engines including a possible high performance unit with 250hp (184kW).

Although Peugeot hasn't announced when the car will be officially unveiled, timing seems to suggest that it could make an appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Spy Photos: Peugeot 308 RC-Z Spotted almost Undisguised

Copyright by Carpix / Peugeot 308 RC-Z Spy Photo

Peugeot first showed the 308 RC-Z Concept car at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. It wowed the audiences and many probably wished it would be built soon after. They may have to wait just a little longer as the car is destined to begin production in 2010.

Copyright by Carpix / Peugeot 308 RC-Z Spy Photo

Yes, the Peugeot 308 RC-Z does bear a certain resemblance to the previous-generation Audi TT. But Peugeot does not seem to be fazed much by this perception. The French automaker appears determined to bring the car into production. Our spy pictures of a black prototype taken in Spain establish as much.

Copyright by Carpix / Peugeot 308 RC-Z Spy Photo

PSA Peugeot Citroen is realigning itself. While Citroen is also going upmarket with models like the DS Line, Peugeot is keeping the harder tab on the highest sporting side of things such as Le Mans and of course the 308 RC-Z.

Copyright by Carpix / Peugeot 308 RC-Z Spy Photo

Competitors in this field are fierce so the car will have to produce a very special lineup of powertrains to run alongside them. The RC-Z will probably hit the streets with the same engines as higher-level 308 models with a rumoured 250hp (184kW) motor mentioned. Turbo diesels are probably going to be included as well.

The Frankfurt Motor is coming up again in about three months and it would be an ideal place to unveil the sports car in production trim.

Shanghai Auto Show:Peugeot RD Concept Car Full Scale Model Revealed

The Peugeot RD concept design of 27 year old Carlos Arturo Torres Tovar is now on exhibition as a full-size model at the 2009 Auto Shanghai in China. The Colombian has just graduated from the National University of Colombia where he studied Industrial Design.

What sold the RD concept for Peugeot and the selected jury was its high road-holding ability with ease of use in congested traffic, the environmentally friendly electric motor and the 3-wheeler's driving sensation of a sedan. It also features panoramic all-around visibility and head-up display. Peugeot has been building this show unit since October 2008.

His concept car was the winning project in Peugeot's 5th Annual Design Competition which saw prospects from 95 different nationalities submit over 2,500 projects. The theme for the contest was "Imagine the Peugeot of the Worldwide Megalopolis of tomorrow" which in essence asked them to picture the transportation needs of future megacities and design a vehicle to satisfy them.

On top of seeing his design come to life in a 1:1 scale, the winner also takes home a cheque for 10,000 euros and an Xbox 360 game console. Twenty nine short-listed entries also received certain prizes.

China seen producing scaled-down knockoff of Peugeot Hoggar concept

The Peugeot Hoggar Concept from 2003 was a two-seat buggy named for an Algerian desert, designed to be "a sports car for extreme conditions." It had two cast alloy seats in the middle, and two transverse, 180-horsepower diesel engines – one mounted up front, one out back – driving each axle through two semi-automatic gearboxes. The cabin was, as one might expect of a showcar, filled with leather and aluminum.

But the Peugeot Hoggar Concept is not the vehicle you see above – it's a smaller Hoggar knockoff made in China by an as-yet-unknown firm, evidently created by using images of the Hoggar found online. Like the concept, it has four-wheel drive, but that's about where the overlap ends. It's powered by an 800cc Chery QQ engine running through a five-speed gearbox. You can compare and contrast the two cars for yourselves in the gallery below.
